Bubblegum
The Bubblegum series explores contemporary representations of femininity through the visual language of glamour, color, and performative beauty. Drawing from popular culture and fashion imagery, the paintings examine how femininity is constructed, displayed, and negotiated within modern visual culture. Bright palettes and expressive textures evoke the seductive aesthetics of cosmetics, advertising, and social media imagery. Yet beneath the surface of glamour, the figures inhabit a space between confidence and introspection, suggesting the complexities of identity and self-presentation. Rather than reinforcing idealized stereotypes, the works consider how women navigate expectations of beauty, strength, and visibility. The subjects appear both empowered and reflective, occupying a space where performance and authenticity intersect. Through this series, the visual vocabulary of glamour becomes a framework for questioning how femininity is shaped, perceived, and reclaimed within contemporary society.
