The Mechanical palette
The Mechanical Palette explores the tension between mechanical systems and human expression. Developed in dialogue with my research, the series examines how the act of painting can remain a deeply human gesture within processes that suggest repetition, structure, and automation. Mechanical elements within the work introduce a sense of order and constraint, while color and gesture operate as forms of resistance—asserting the presence of the human hand within an increasingly mediated visual environment. Through this series, the mechanical becomes both a framework and a counterpoint. Within its structure, paint functions as a voice, revealing the persistence of intuition, imperfection, and individuality in the face of systems that often seek uniformity.
